Overmolding
Overmolding allows multiple materials to be integrated within a single component. The product shown here demonstrates this technique. After the part is molded with its metal inserts, overmolding is applied to form the white gasket. While the black material is hard and sturdy, the gasket is made from a different composition which forms a soft, elastic seal.
